What we keep, what’s public, who helps us run the site, and your choices. No ads, no tracking, never sold.

The short version

No sellingWe never sell or rent anyone’s information, and there are no ads on The Squeeze.
No trackingNo analytics, no ad trackers, no tracking cookies.
Only what we needTo list stands, run the contests, answer messages and keep the site safe.

A listingThe stand’s name, town, county, address, hours, prices, flavors, fundraiser, story and photo.
VotesEach stand’s vote count. Never who voted.
Public tipsA tipper’s name and message, only if they chose to make the tip public.

A grown-up’s emailWith every listing, for its emails and sign-in links. Never shown on the site.
Contest entryThe grown-up’s name and the time they agreed to the contest rules.
Voters’ emailsConfirmed by a link, so it’s one vote per person. Never shown, never added to a mailing list.
The launch listYour email, if you asked to hear when we open. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
MessagesWhat you send through the contact form or a report, so we can answer it.
TipsWhat the tip jar tells us about a tip: the name, amount, message and email, so it reaches the right stand.
Connection detailsThe internet address a listing, vote or sign-in came from, and the device type for sign-ins. Only to stop abuse.

Before they go liveEvery new listing and every change is checked before it shows on the site.
Automated checksAutomated tools help us check the listing details and photo. They don’t see the grown-up’s email.

Trusted service providersA small number of companies help us host the site, store listings and photos, send our emails, keep out bots, suggest addresses, show the weather and check listings.
Only what they needEach one gets only what its job needs, and only to do that job for us.
Tips and merchTips and merch orders are handled on the tip jar and store pages we link to, under their own privacy policies.

Browser storageYour saved stands, your vote sign-in and a few display choices stay in your own browser. Clear them any time.
Your locationOnly if you allow it, for stands near you. It stays in your browser; at most a rounded version is used to look up the local weather.

ListingsUntil the stand is taken down. A removed stand is deleted, with its votes and history.
MessagesAbout 90 days.
Declined listingsTheir photos are deleted after 30 days.
Everything elseOnly as long as the site needs it.

A grown-up on every listingKids run the stands, and a parent or guardian puts their email on each listing and has the final say.
Children and minorsWe don’t knowingly collect personal information from any children or minors, except what a parent or guardian gives us with a listing.

See or delete itAsk us for a copy of what we hold about you, or for it to be deleted.
Your listingEdit, pause or take it down any time, from the stand’s page.
EmailsUnsubscribe from any list email with one click.

Ask usUse the contact form. A real person answers.
ChangesIf this page changes, the new version is posted here with a new date.
