Where stands set up here

In a county with a city the size of Oklahoma City, the busy spots are neighborhood streets with people walking by, the parks on a Saturday morning, and the farmers market. A stand on a quiet cul-de-sac can do fine too — it just needs the sign out at the corner.

  • Your own yard or drivewayPrivate property. Yours. Nobody to ask.
  • A park, a market, the ball fieldsPublic. Ask whoever runs it, or city hall, first.
  • A church lot, a feed store, a shop’s porchAsk the owner. Most are glad to say yes.

The law in Oklahoma County

The same as everywhere in Oklahoma: a kid’s lemonade stand needs no permit, no license and no inspection under the state’s food freedom law, 2 O.S. § 5-4.3. The law asks for one sign at the stand, and the stand kit prints it. Towns can have their own rules for selling in public places — your own driveway is private.

The County Cup here

No stand has listed in Oklahoma County yet, so there is no race. The first stand to list takes the county’s Founder badge for good, and the second starts the race. Next door, Canadian, Cleveland, and Kingfisher are waiting too. The Summer 2027 season opens June 1; voting runs July 15 to August 24, with National Lemonade Day on August 20 right in the middle.
